Big selection of donuts! Fresh and tasty. Cheap Very friendly employees! Got a dozen mixed donut holes, a cronut, and an almond milk hot chocolate. The actual sesame donut is my favorite. Reminds me of those sesame candies. I felt like the cronut needed to be a little sweeter it was way closer to a croissant flavor and needed a happy medium between the two. They don't charge extra for milk alternatives!!! Plenty of tables and chairs to sit, relax, and eat your donuts. Plenty of street parking Overall pretty happy with the experience!
Favorite donut shop in San Diego! Local mom & pop shop in the same plaza as Krispy Kreme. There is no reason at all to go to Krispy Kreme if Sesame Donuts is open! Sesame donuts is both cheaper and better! On top of that, the owners are extremely friendly and always gives out extra donuts or donut holes to customers! Seriously, why pay more for Krispy Kreme when you can walk to the other side of the plaza and get cheaper and better donut! Also try the ham and cheese or bacon and cheese croissant if you aren't feeling a donut! Can't beat 12 donuts for $8.99!!!!!
The ham and cheese croissant here is to die for. Only been here once and going back will be a serious treat! I haven't found a place other than this one with the ham and cheese croissant pastry, not sandwich. The lady who took my order even went to the back to get a fresh croissant because the one in the front didn't look the best. They also give you a few donut holes with your order which is so sweet. Great Mom and Pop shop that I'm happy to support. The doughnuts looked delicious as well and I did try a few but I couldn't eat much cause I don't have that much of a sweet tooth. They are decadent for sure and constantly refilling.
How do I start? I have tried 3 times coming here to pick up a various selection of donuts. I've tried raised, cake, croissants, the whole spectrum. The savory options are good. I will give them that. But the sweet options all leave me thinking...it makes me think that these employees don't know how to make donuts. The cake donuts are too generously glazed. They are covered in gobs of coating. The last time we went, the attendant gave us just glazed chocolate cakes that were literally dripping in frosting. Everything else in that box was covered in that same chocolate glaze. The cake donuts themselves had a stale consistency. My partner mentioned that one of them had an off putting aftertaste...as though someone else had been fried in the oil other than dough. I asked for a plain old fashioned. The kid had placed a maple one in. I wouldn't ordinarily mind if it had not been 1) a stale donut 2) gratuitously covered in frosting such that it was inedible. Stale inedible donuts. The other donuts I got were dry with coating that was too sweet. My teeth HURT biting into them. We ended up taking 1 bite of each donut and then throwing the whole lot of them in the trash. I'd recommend Tigard donut. Their selection is FRESH every morning and they've got the corner on the market for cake donuts in the area. Sadly not open on Sundays.
Definitely the place to get your donuts from anytime of day! Great customer service from Jennifer. Coffee, croissants, and all flavors of donuts...I love the cream filled and glaze. Support local donut shops!! Thank you for servicing this community for so long!
The great thing about PSU is that it's pretty much central to all of the tasty offerings in this area! I was of course stoked to see that a Sesame Donuts would be opening in this area and have waited for months. It's finally opened and I already like it better than the ones in Beaverton. The establishment is new, so of course the decor is still in top notch shape and looks very modern inside. It was also very clean from the brief moment I was in there. Like the rest of the other shops, donuts are in the $1.30-2.40 range, which isn't a bad price for some super grubby treats. Ordered: Strawberry Icing donut-- The icing was too sweet for me, so I wiped some of it all. Otherwise it was aesthetically pleasing and melt in your mouth goodness. Vanilla Icing Donut w/ Sprinkles-- It's like the glaze one but with icing. Icing had just the right about of sweetness. Glazed Raised Donut-- No burnt and over buttered underside like the typical Safeway donut, nor was it overly glazed with sugar like the Krispy Creme ones tend to be. Powdered mini donut-- Not too powdery, was really fulfilling. Is kind of messy though. Water-- I mean, it's water lol. Service: The cashier Lida was superb! She was friendly and didn't make me wait or get mad when I hesitated about which donut I wanted. I even received a sample of the powdered ball donut. Wait Time: None. Bill: $
My son and I were out for a walk to get a treat from somewhere else when we walked by this place. We could smell the fresh baked donuts from the street! We passed by, but my son kept commenting on how good it smelled. So, we decided to go there instead! There were a couple people behind the counter and all were extremely friendly and helpful. One lady even gave us a couple samples of her fresh baked donut holes! I'm not a huge donut fan, but these were great! I'd get them on their own. My son picked out a huge blueberry fritter thing. It was huge! He also picked out two Oreo donuts to surprise the rest of the family. I didn't try the Oreo donuts, but I heard they were amazing. I picked out a jalapeño bagel. It was really good. The customer service was excellent! We will definitely come back for a visit.
The donut and bagel were fine tasting. Service was also perfectly fine. The problem however was the cooler they have up front is in serious violation of food codes. The milk I grabbed out of the cooler was warm and I noticed that the temperature was marked in the danger zone. When I brought this to the attention of the employee they said "that's just how it is." The entire cooler should be replaced and all the food in it is inedible. They also made me pay for the milk after I pointed out this issue.
My husband and I have just moved to town and I, being from the midwest, have been missing Dunkin' Donuts because I THOUGHT they had the best bagels. This place definitely tops my favorite bagel place... I guess that means I can never move now! We got a half dozen donuts and one bagel, all of which were really great. I especially loved the asiago cheese bagel I got (and, when I mentioned to my husband as we were leaving that I forgot we didn't have any cream cheese at home, the woman at the counter stopped us and gave me a small side of cream cheese to go! What a sweet thought!). My bagel was even fresh and soft the next day! What impressed me the most was actually their apple cider donut. Again, being from the midwest, it is a yearly tradition that I go to a cider mill every Fall. However, since I moved to California for two years before moving here, I have been missing my cider and donuts. I tried the cider donut here on a whim-- thinking that it could in no way match up to the donuts that I'm used to-- and it was fantastic. It actually brought tears to my eyes because it tasted like home. Lastly, I was really pleased that even though we went in there at like 5-6pm (I can't remember but I know it was pretty late in the day), everything was still soft and fresh. I can't wait to go back-- I hear they make a mean breakfast sandwich ALL DAY!
Donut holes are now 15 for $1.50.
